Fireworks guidelines for Lone Tree
With the Fourth of July a few short days away, the city of Lone Tree is dedicated to making sure the holiday weekend is not only fun, but safe as well. Therefore, Lone Tree would like to remind everyone that it is unlawful for any person to use fireworks within the city. It is important to understand that the city of Lone Tree does not follow the same regulations set forth by Douglas County and that all forms of fireworks are banned.
The term fireworks means any composition or device designed to produce a visible or audible effect by combustion, deflagration, or detonation, and that meets the definition of articles pyrotechnic, permissible fireworks, or display fireworks.
Essentially, a good rule of thumb to go by is, if fireworks leave the ground, produce a loud bang, or ignite, they are not allowed in the city. A few examples: cherry bombs, roman candles, firecrackers, bottle rockets, shells and rockets, M-80s and M-100s, helicopters, cylindrical or cone fountains, illuminating torches, colored fire and sparklers.
The city of Lone Tree encourages residents to forgo the use of fireworks at home and attend the city-sponsored, professional fireworks display instead.
